Help Us Pack Meal Kits and Birthday Boxes!
Join with the Humanist Society of Greater Phoenix (HSGP) in assembling meal kits and birthday boxes as part of the American Humanist Association's (AHA) American Empathy Project.
We have selected six recipes using shelf-stable, low-cost ingredients, including options designed to be free from as many of the "Big 9" common allergens (milk, eggs, peanuts, tree nuts, wheat, soy, fish, shellfish, and sesame) as possible.
In addition to meal kits, our NavigatorsUSA Chapter 458 will be packing Birthday Boxes for Foster Youth. Each box will include a cake pan, cake mix, frosting, and decorations.
Please Register: The AHA is publicizing this event and has funded more than 100 projects to take place on May 2nd nationwide. They request that everyone use the links below to register on Mobilize, as this will help with promotion. Feel free to register for both events as they both take place at the Humanist Community Center. There will be plenty of work to go around!
Our Goal: To pack 300 meals and 120 birthday boxes! However, the grants from AHA don't cover the full cost of these stretch goals. If you can help with donations of money or specific items from our shopping lists, please visit HSGP's webpage: 2026 AHA Empathy Project Fundraiser

Guidelines for Food Donations:
🚫No Glass | 🗓 Check Dates (2+ months out) | 🌿Avoid extra "Seasoning" (to avoid allergens)
Any Brand (Unseasoned):
- Beans (15.5oz): Black, Great Northern, Pinto, Green, Kidney.
- Veg: Corn, Sliced Carrots, Diced Tomatoes (Plain or w/ Green Chile).
- Other: Tomato Sauce, Saltines, Italian Seasoning, Parmesan.
Specific Brands Requested (Due to Allergens):
- Chicken/Tuna: WinCo, Kroger, or Brookdale.
- Sauces: Prego Alfredo (Can), Hunt's Garlic & Herb (Can), Embasa Salsa Verde.
- Pantry: Great Value (Walmart) Chili/Enchilada Sauce, Stonemill Chili Pkts, Edward & Sons Bouillon.
- Bulk: Kraft Mac (18pk), Goldfish (45pk).
Little Free Pantry: We always accept general food donations here too!
