Building Godless Community & International Engagement

Susanna McIntyre will briefly describe her background: how and why she left religion, as well as her past experience with the ‘illiberal left’.
She’ll also describe Atheist Republic: its mission, history, and accomplishments, as well as a special examination of the necessity of building global and local communities in tandem.

She will also discuss the importance of international solidarity and engagement when fighting to protect persecuted atheists and those criminalized for alleged blasphemy.

About Our Speaker: Susanna McIntyre is an ex-Catholic atheist and the current President & CEO of Atheist Republic.

Atheist Republic is the world’s largest community of atheists, with non-profit entities in the U.S. and Canada plus local chapters in over 70 countries around the globe. Susanna’s background in psychology and neuroscience and a brief stint as a militant leftist inform her approach to promoting critical thinking skills.

She is particularly passionate about promoting and protecting free expression and teaching the public about the dangers of the many blasphemy laws worldwide.
