Ellwood Mesa/Butterfly Grove Easy Hike

WHAT: Ellwood Mesa/Butterfly Grove Easy Hike. About two mile loop.
WHEN: Sunday December 21 at 10:00AM Note Late Start Time!
WHERE: NOTE SPECIAL MEETING PLACE! Meet at Coastal Access Parking Lot near the corner of Phelps Road and Cannon Green in Goleta.

BRING: Snack and water

I had planned to see the butterflies in the grove, but don't expect to see many butterflies this year. The City of Goleta cut down many of the trees in the grove and planted new ones. Not sure the monarch butterflies will ever come back. But we can see what it looks like now.

We will continue onto Ellwood Mesa and walk along the bluffs for some scenic views. There are usually interesting birds on the Mesa and occasionally other wildlife.

We should be back before lunch time, but you may want to bring water and also a snack.
