Andrew Seidel: The Founding Myth: "Why Christian Nationalism is Un-American"

Details
Andrew L. Seidel is a constitutional and civil rights attorney, author, and former Grand Canyon tour guide. Publisher's Weekly called his new book, The Founding Myth: Why Christian Nationalism is un-American, a “furious debut,” in which Seidel delivers a “fervent takedown” of the claim that America was founded on Judeo-Christian principles. Renowned constitutional scholar Erwin Chemerinsky has described it as "a beautifully written book" that "explodes a frequently expressed myth: that the United States was created as a Christian nation.” The Founding Myth made national news when it was burned by a Tennessee preacher. At the Freedom From Religion Foundation, Seidel works to ensure that the government obeys the First Amendment and that the wall of Separation between state and church remains tall and impregnable.
We also are pleased to welcome back Coral Anika Theill to our chat. Coral has long written on religious trauma syndrome and is also a former member of the conservative Christian cult “People of Praise.” People of Praise has come into the news because of a recently high profile member, US Supreme Court nominee Amy Coney Barrett.
