Annual Humanist Community Installation Dinner

Details

The Annual Humanist Community Installation Dinner is a special evening, held after the Board election, where we welcome in the 2019 Board of Directors and honor Those Who Go Above and Beyond.

This is a 24 year old tradition! It includes a sumptuous meal at The Blue Pheasant (https://www.thebluepheasant.com/), which will be of the same high standard as our many previous annual dinners that have been held there. We have arranged for a private floor.

This will be the last chance to say farewell to Hilton Brown who is leaving the area. Mementos of his long life will be on display.

The outgoing president, Paul Gilbert, will present a rose to each former board member with a word of praise. The new president (Alex Havasy) will do the same for the new board members.

The Humanist of the Year, someone who has never been chosen before, will be announced, and presented with a plaque.

In recognition of a life well lived, the name of the awardee of the Lifetime Achievement Award will be added to the Lifetime Achievement plaque. Those who remember Al Dow can understand why he has been chosen to have his name added to those of the 7 elders who have been honored with this award in previous years. Al handled the newsletter, paperwork and record keeping with great skill. So it will be a pleasure to add his name to the plaque.

Awards of Recognition will also be given to those whose service to the community have been outstanding

Tickets to the event are $29.

To RSVP, please contact Sena Havasy at senahav@gmail.com or 408-739-5638.

Let’s have a good turnout in support of the Humanist Community in Silicon Valley, and for an evening with an active group of people!
