At this Sunday’s Humanist Forum we will watch and discuss a July 2009 talk by Christopher Hitchens presented by the Commonwealth Club of California. Christopher, who died in 2011, describes his experiences and impressions of Iraq under Saddam Husssein, North Korea under Kim Jong-il, and the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Acclaimed writer and political scholar Hitchens may just be the only writer to have recently visited Iran, Iraq and North Korea. Hitchens -- known for his keen wit, sharp political insight and often-controversial opinions -- examines the differences between the countries once linked as the "axis of evil," while revealing intriguing connections between the nations.
