The Sophistry of Christopher Hitchens

Alex O’Connor, the cosmic skeptic, is a great fan of the late Christopher Hitchens and loves to hear his debates, but he feels that in all honesty there are holes in Hitchens’s arguments that should be exposed. In this video O’Connor shows him misinterpreting arguments, reinterpreting what was said, and blowing off another’s comments with a witty comeback. Still, he’s a charismatic speaker. He wins debates with charm and humor and it’s easy to miss the holes in his arguments.

Attend in Person:
You can attend our forums in person with fellow humanists in the Maple Room of the Mountain View Community Center at 201 S Rengstorff Ave, Mountain View. Lunch will be served after the forum. We request a $10 donation for lunch. If you attend in person, COVID protocols will be followed. Vaccinations and masks will be required. If you have symptoms that may be COVID, kindly attend on Zoom.
