"No Kings" National Day of Action

On Saturday, June 14 , we'll gather at 12noon at the Battleship Oregon Memorial on the Portland Waterfront to join in a nonviolent rally along with a coalition of other community groups to stand for justice. To find the group, look for the blue balloons!

As American Humanist Association (AHA) organizing director, Jake Via, explains:

• this is "a moment to stand for democratic principles and against the authoritarian trends. As humanists, we champion reason, secular governance, and active civic engagement. This No Kings initiative offers a way to express these values in partnership with tens of thousands of others across the country. While some may focus on spectacles, the real power on June 14th will be all of us on the streets in defiance of the cruelty and indignities being perpetrated by our own government."

We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values and to act lawfully at these events. Weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, should not be brought to events."
