Sunday Program - Humanism and Hinduism
Details
Humanism and Hinduism
Hinduism offers choice over belief and/or experience. HGP's Harsh Arora will present a brief overview of Hindu history, traditions and thought processes; how its teachings have guided his explorations; and humanism's role in its foundation. Raised in a religious Hindu family in India, Harsh questioned the basic premise of religions in high school, reading the Bible, Koran, Avesta, Buddhist Sutra and studying Hindu literature in depth. Now with a graduate degree from UC Berkeley, he has lectured on Hinduism for 25 years, and has written two novels (‘The First Hindu’ and ‘Undesired Duty’) plus several local plays.
