About us
hu·man·ism /ˈhyo͞oməˌnizəm/ noun
an outlook or system of thought attaching prime importance to human rather than divine or supernatural matters. Humanist beliefs stress the potential value and goodness of human beings, emphasize common human needs, and seek solely rational ways of solving human problems.
Put simply, humanism is the belief of being "good without God," so if you are looking to join a social group to meet other non-religious folks in Rhode Island - this is it! The Humanists of Rhode Island (HRI) is an active group always looking for new ideas and new members. If you aren't sure about humanism, please research it before joining to see if this is for you.
There is no agenda, we are a relaxed group of local humanists just looking to make more friends and have fun with like-minded people. We meet at noon on the second Sunday of each month. This is a potluck meetup so bring a dish to share!
**Please message us for the address, each month it is hosted at a different home around RI so we don't want folks showing up at the wrong place.**
