End of year picnic
Details
Event Summary:
We're holding an end of year picnic at Sydney Park, Alexandria. We've had a strong year of community building, and we'd really like to celebrate that. So we're inviting everyone whose attended any of our events this year (and enjoyed them) to join us at our end of year picnic. Of course newcomers are welcome too. Come along and find out more about human heartedness, our secular philosophy of positive social connection, or just enjoy a picnic with some friendly people.
Event details:
Date Sunday 21/12
Time: 11:30 am - 14:30pm
Venue: Sydney Park, Alexandria
How to get there: St Peters Train station is a few hundred metres from the park. As well as by train buses from several routes stop at the St Peters station bus stop. If going by car there are car parks on all four sides of Sydney Park.
Location within park: We’ll be meeting on the Sydney Park road side of the park on the first big hill if you are walking along Sydney Park road from St Peters station. Basically just walk past the black fence for the maintenance works, then walk right up the first hill. There’s a large abstract sculpture at the top of the hill, called ‘The Trail’ and we’ll be meeting near there.
What to bring: please bring a plate of food to share. Also some drinks if you like.
What we (the organisers) will bring: We’ll bring some basic snacks like chips, bread rolls and a few salads, for everyone, also some drinks water and a few bottles of soft drink, and plastic cups. We’ll also bring some basic barbecue equipment
Barbecue options: There’s a barbecue about 200 metres away, near the skateboard park. We’ve planned this as a picnic. But if people would like to barbecue something we can easily send a group to reserve a barbecue and do some barbecuing.
