Religious Trauma: The Eternal Sinner

Details
In the final part of this five part series, we’ll explore the ever-present concept of sin and its place in a diversity of different faiths. The emphasis placed on sin and the dire nature of its consequences can plant a pervasive, nagging or overwhelming fear that often follows people long after leaving a religion. In this presentation, counsellor and psychotherapist Caroline Winzenried will discuss how guilt about sin can transform into a deep-seated sense of shame and anxiety that leaves people feeling as though they are fundamentally "bad".
