What we're about
We try to build community and facilitate collective personal growth though critical and compassionate discussion on important life topics as well as Humanist news and stories.
Humanist Values and Rhetoric:
We utilize free inquiry, the power of science, and the creative imagination for the furtherance of peace and in the service of compassion, often guided and inspired by virtues such as wisdom, love, and temperance, as explored in the science of positive psychology (https://www.authentichappiness.sas.upenn.edu/).
We are confident that we have the means to solve the problems that confront us all. Humanism is part of an effort to escape from all types of dogma and ignorance. We do this by spreading critical thinking and evidence-based thinking (rationalism & empiricism) instead of dogma or faith based thinking (fideism).
