๐ 5:30 PM โ 7:30 PM
๐ Classic Bean | 2125 SW Fairlawn Plaza Dr, Topeka, KS 66614
Join us for the a discussion in our four-book humanist core series, centered on George Orwell's Nineteen Eighty-Four.
We'll explore the novel not just as a political warning, but as a philosophical argument โ about truth, language, power, human dignity, and what it actually takes to destroy a self. Discussion will be guided by themes drawn from secular humanist thought, and connected to the three other books in our series: The Demon-Haunted World by Carl Sagan, Four Thousand Weeks by Oliver Burkeman, and The Long Way to a Small Angry Planet by Becky Chambers.
No prior experience with humanism required. Just bring your curiosity and a willingness to think out loud.
โ Classic Bean is a beloved local Topeka coffee shop with a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere โ open until 8:00 PM on Wednesdays. Come early if you'd like to grab a drink or bite before we get started.
