NOTE: This event is on a Thursday.

This is 2 separate hikes in the same area with a total of 8 miles and 600 vertical feet. We will do a little off-trail navigation on the first section.

The first route is a 3 mile lollipop loop past an old homestead foundation to a shallow canyon with ancient pictographs and a birthing cave which was last used by humans 6,000 years ago.

The second section involves a short drive to the start of the Badlands Dry River Canyon trail, 5 miles out and back. This area is usually closed Feb - Aug to protect nesting falcons. During the last Ice Age, the river drained a large lake in the area now known as Millican Flat.
