Middle Section of Tumalo Creek

Description: 8 miles, 900 vertical feet. Please note: The first 2.5 mile section of this hike is a little more rugged than our usual outings. There are no stream crossings. Some manzanita - I don't recommend wearing shorts or no-show socks.

This little-known (secret!) loop hike starts upstream of the Shevlin Park boundary. It includes:

• My favorite stretch of Tumalo Creek
• An abandoned canal which was started in 1904
• A bit of the Mrazek Trail
• A short section of an old dirt bike trail
• A couple of miles on a forest road

We'll meet at the Aspen Hall side of Shevlin Park and car pool a few miles from there.
