REPEAT: Middle Section of Tumalo Creek
Details
This event is on a Thursday.
The Waitlist is open.
This is a repeat of the June 4th hike for the folks who weren't able to go on the original. I moved everyone from the original Waitlist over to this new Going list.
Description: 8.5 miles, 900 vertical feet. Please note: The first 2.5 mile section of this hike is a little more rugged than our usual outings. There are no stream crossings. Some manzanita and sharp rocks; I don't recommend shorts or no-show socks.
This little-known loop hike starts upstream of the Shevlin Park boundary. It includes:
- My favorite stretch of Tumalo Creek
- A decommissioned canal which was started in 1904
- A bit of the Mrazek Trail
- A short section of an old dirt bike trail
- A couple of miles on a forest road
We'll meet at the Aspen Hall side of Shevlin Park and car pool a few miles from there.
