Call Bear Creek Canoe Run at 205-993-4459. Tell them you are with the Huntsville Social Adventurers Meet-up Group and reserve you kayak,canoe, or shuttle.
Hey everyone, this may be the first big river trip of the season for HSA. We are planning on gathering up at no later that 9:15 with intent to start shuttling to the put in NLT 10:00. We will be paddling the upper section.
HEADS UP: Please be aware that this run has two Class 2 features on it. They may present a challenge to you, but if you have some Class 1 experience, you should be fine.
PRICES FOR 2025 SEASON
Kayak $40, shuttle included
Canoe $60, shuttle included
Shuttle only (bring your own boat) $20 per boat. A reservation IS required for shuttle only.
Outfitter operates CASH ONLY/PAY ON ARRIVAL.
BE PUNCTUAL & UPDATE RSVP IF YOU CAN’T MAKE IT
If you have to bail on us, please change your RSVP as soon as you know out of respect for the group so we that we don’t waste time waiting for no-shows.
DON’T FORGET TO BRING At minimum: lunch, water/drinks, snacks, sturdy shoes (no flip flops, closed-toed footwear advised), water-proof container or bag, life-jacket (even if you are renting, advise bringing your own instead of wearing a rental PFD), sunscreen, insect repellant, towels, a change of clothes, any meds you take and common sense. If you will be in a canoe or sit-in kayak, it is advised to bring a bailing scoop and sponge - it's not IF you will be taking on water, but HOW MUCH :)
RAIN DATE
If there are unsuitable float conditions, we will try for a re-schedule. Bear Creek does not run when flash floods are forecasted. Dangerous conditions can result.
