What we’re about

Welcome to the Hutchinson Qi Gong meetup group!

Parallel Facebook group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1107622664045911

I'll be guiding us through some foundational 5 element flows that you will be able to learn fairly easily and bring into a daily practice for yourself.

All levels of knowledge and experience are welcomed including total beginners with zero experience!

People of all backgrounds and beliefs are welcome.

Qi Gong does not conflict with any religious beliefs or lack thereof and no special beliefs are required to practice.

Qi Gong means "Energy Skill", "Energy Cultivation" or "Energy Practice" and it consists mainly of slow and flowing movements combined with breath and mindfulness which encourages Qi flow throughout your body which leads to health and vitality. Qi, also known as the 'life force', is a concept that some believe in and some do not. If you are skeptical you may think of it as "bio-electricity".

When we practice Qi Gong we are helping Qi to move through the same meridian system that acupuncturists use. Acupuncturists, however, are limited to working with the external 12 meridian systems that they can put needles in. In Qi Gong we work with these 12 external meridians as well but are also able to access the internal 8 Extraordinary meridians which are like the oceans of Qi that overflow into the 12 external meridians.

These practices come from the ancient Chinese traditions of Taoism. You do not need to subscribe to Taoist beliefs in order to practice Qi Gong. Qi Gong practice is a personal practice and anything that you choose to accept or belief about it will be validated by your own personal experience.

I have been practicing Qi Gong and various Taoist energetic techniques for many years and am a certified Instructor with Mantak Chia's Universal Healing Tao and am currently completing my Teacher Certification with Lee Holden's school.
