"Begintermediate" Film Workshop Series at RARA

This 6-week workshop is designed for creatives ready to move beyond the basics and begin shaping their own short films—whether you’ve taken an intro course or taught yourself the essentials.

You’ll dive into story structure, visual composition, natural lighting, sound, and editing—using smartphones and free tools, with access to in-class gear and guidance. Each session combines short demos with hands-on time to experiment, collaborate, and grow your confidence.

You’ll have the option to create a 1–2 minute film or follow guided exercises—choosing the path that best supports your process. By the end, you’ll leave with a finished project (or a strong start), a toolkit of practical skills, and a deeper connection to your creative voice.

Best for: Learners who already understand the basics and want a supportive, structured space to keep building their craft.

Session Fee: $200 (Rochester residents) / $220 (non-residents)
