Please join me for a fast paced hike in Harriman State Park. We will be following a route designed by my friend Shari. This hike is not for beginners and there will be no sweep. You must be confident in your ability to keep up with the group and be able to navigate on your own should you become separated. Faster hikers are not obligated to wait for slower hikers. I will upload a sketch of the route.

Intermediate -C ride, This is a 30 mi @ an 8 to 10 mph pace, directions are a bit wonky Brooks Lake Park is right at the corner of mine Road and firefighters memorial dr this is a 30 mi out and back ride please click the link below to see the exact route. Will ride into Cornwall and have brunch at One of the many outdoor eateries.

Directions seem to not be coming up properly within the app if you just type in eagle lake tuxedo Park New York it will take you right there it's more like a pond than a lake The parking area is just down from the corner of eagle valley road and Long meadow road would you turn in from sloatsburg road it's the first Right about a hundred ft down just in front of you is the parking area.

Join us for a beautiful sunset climb up Bear Mountain. The pace of the main group will be moderate to quick in order to reach the peak at sunset. Please note that this is not a beginner hike, and there is no sweep.

Park in the main parking lot #1, right in front of the Bear Mountain Inn. GPS coordinates are 41.31270, -73.98924 for parking and the meeting spot.

We will meet outside the Bear Mountain Inn. We'll ascend on the Major Welch trail (red circle). After 1.65 miles, make a sharp RIGHT TURN where the Major Welch and Appalachian Trails merge and follow the AT South (white rectangle) to Moon Rocks for sunset. After a break for sunset, we will descend to the inn on the AT North (white rectangle).

While we will try our best to stay together, faster hikers are not obligated to wait for slower hikers. You should feel comfortable completing the hike on your own should you fall behind or separate from the group.

Sunset is at 8:09pm.
