Good morning everyone. We will change our Meetup to Bear Mountain and use a pavilion there. Please meet me at the front entrance of the inn at 9:30. Coordinates:[masked], [masked]

Event Description:

This is a Day Hike, not a backpacking trip. I will be bringing 3 or 4 fully loaded backpacking kits representing various gear philosophies from traditional to ultralight. Participants will have the opportunity to take turns carrying each pack to experience the impact of gear selection on comfort while hiking. We will stop along the hike to demonstrate different types of shelters, cooking systems, and water filtration systems.

How to get off the waitlist?

Everyone who signs up will be put on the waitlist. To get off the waitlist, you must email me a question about backpacking. It can be anything you think of. Emails should be sent to [masked] .

Participants are encouraged to bring equipment that they have questions about, but shouldn't feel like they need to go out and purchase gear. Our objective is to see and try out gear in the field before you make expensive investments.
