The Hike - This hike involves some great rock scrambles, tight crevices, and, of course, great views!!

The route:

  • We start up the trail at 9:15. Please arrive early and be ready.
    - From the parking lot, we will take the red trail about one mile to the start of the rock scramble below Bonticue Crag.
    - We will ascend the scramble and boulder field to the top of the cliffs.
    - After taking in the great views from the cliffs, we'll take the Northeast Trail along the ridge 1.3 miles to the Clearwater Trail.
    - Turn left onto the Clearwater Trail and continue to the intersection with the Table Rocks Trail.
    - Turn right and continue to the Table Rocks area. (lunch spot)
    - After exploring crevices, etc., take the Table Rocks Trail back towards the parking lot, stopping at the Million Dollar View along the way.

Distance: approx. 6 miles
Elevation gain: Approx. 1,200 feet
Difficulty: 2.2- 2.3 mph pace; rock scrambling; crevices
Gear: Headlamp; Appropriate footwear; clothing for changing temperatures; collapsible poles may be helpful for some people; water; snacks/lunch
