The Hike:
We start hiking at 8:30am. The pace will be a steady, brisk 2.3 - 2.4mph average pace. There's no sweep. We will make several brief stops at great viewpoints and take lunch up on Breakneck Ridge. We will also see the ruins of the Cornish Estate mansion, etc., in the final two miles. ******Review the route should you decide to hike faster or slower than what's been described.

Here's the route:
- From Washburn Trailhead, take white 2.6 miles up and over Bull Hill.
- On decent, turn right onto green trail and go 1.9 miles.
- Turn right onto the yellow Undercliff Trail. Go ~3.6 miles to white Breakneck Ridge Trail (BNR).
- Turn left onto white BNR. Go 150 yards to viewpoint.
- Take a lunch/snack break at viewpoint.
- Double back on white BNR Trail to yellow.
- Descend on yellow to blue trail.
- Turn right onto blue and continue to parking lot. (Cornish Estate ruins are along the way).

Distance: approx. 9.7 miles
Difficulty: Steady and brisk 2.3 - 2.4mph pace. Rocky trails. No sweep. Know the route and be aware of possible bailout points.
Elevation gain: Approx 2,800 feet elevation gain
Time: approx 5- 5.5 hours
Map: NY-NJ Trail Conf. Map #102; Avenza map app; or similar mapping systems.
Gear: Clothing for changing temps; water, snack/lunch. Poles may be helpful for some. Foot traction should be available and in your pack in winter.
