** Rough Cut Brewing is about 6 mintes west of the park entrance, They have food.

** Have foot traction available - Microspikes, snowshoes. Most likely, microspikes will work in current conditions.

The Hike - We will start hiking at 9:30 from the Lower Awosting parking lot so please arrive earlier. (the lot 700 feet straight beyond the entrance booth paystation). We will have nice views along the High Peter's Kill Trail and from spots in the Peter's Kill Gorge before we see the 80' Awosting Falls near the end of the hike.
The route:
- From the north end of parking lot, cross Rt. 44/55 by blue trail marker.
- Enter woods and bear right onto the blue SRT trail.
- Follow SRT above Peter's Kill gorge and cross stream via footbridge.
- Continue on blue to Compass Rock for nice views.
- Continue to white Bull Wheel Trail. Turn right.
- Turn right onto red and head down to stream.
- Follow red trail upstream and then uphill to the Peter's Kill lot.
- We will cross Rt. 44/55 to white trail and to the carriage road.
- Turn right onto carriage road and continue past Awosting Falls.
- After the falls, continue back to parking lot.

Distance: approx. 5.5 miles
Elevation gain: Approx. 900 feet
Difficulty: Icy trails; moderate pace; short uphills.
Gear: Appropriate footwear; microspikes, snowshoes (maybe); clothing layers for winter temperatures; poles may be helpful for some people; water; snacks
