The Hike:
We will start hiking at 9:15. Gate opens at 9. We won't know whether the deep snow on the trails has been broken until we get there. Unbroken trails will mean a slower pace and we may shorten the mileage. We would take turns breaking the trail.

The Route:
- From the Lower Awosting parking lot , go past the gate to enter the Lower Awosting carriage road. Go ~150'.
- Turn left onto yellow to enter the Mossy Glen Trail.
- Continue 1+ miles to Blueberry Run Trail.
- Turn right onto BR Trail and cross footbridge.
- Turn left onto the LA carriage road. Continue about 7/10th mile.
- Turn left onto Rainbow Falls footpath. Continue to Rainbow Falls and on to the cliffs of The Battlement.
- Double back the same way we came. (Hikers are not allowed on the upper carriage roads during x-country skiing season.)

Distance: approx. 7.5 miles
Elevation gain: Approx. 1,400 feet
Pace: Moderate pace
Difficulty: possibly 20-22" unbroken snow on trails.
Gear: Snowshoes; clothing for changing temperatures; poles may be helpful for some people; water; snacks/lunch
Map: NY-NJ Trail Conf. Map #104; Avenza app; similar mapping systems
