Anthony's Nose - Short loop from base of the Nose

* Park about 150' north of the Bear Mtn. Bridge on the shoulder of Rt. 9D.
**Some of us will be coming from the Sunrise hike at Popolopen.

The Hike:
We start hiking up the face at 7:45am. After the steep rock scrambles to the top, we will turn to the right to the viewepoint that looks over the bridge, Bear Mtn., Popolopen, etc.

The route:
- From Rt. 9D at the Bear Mtn. Bridge, go behind the chain link fence and start rock scrambling!!
- The unofficial trail in marked is blue.
- Once you are obviously at the top, turn sharply to the right and go 100' to the viewpoint.
- After a break, go to the official blue trail and bear left.
- Follow the blue woods road 6/10th mile to the AT.
- Turn left on to the white AT and head down to Rt. 9D.
- Turn left to get back to cars.

Distance: approx. 1.6 miles
Pace: moderate pace
Elevation gain: Approx 600 feet
Difficulty: Several steep rock scrambles; rocky trails
Map: NY-NJ Trail Conf. Map #101; Avenza map app; or similar mapping systems.
Gear: water, snacks. Layers for changing temps. . Poles may be helpful for some.
