Anthony's Nose After Work Hike
Details
Anthony's Nose Evening Hike
3 miles, 800 feet of gain, 2.5ish hours
Let's take advantage of the longer days with an evening hike at one of the most scenic views in the area. I'll probably be taking this slow because all I did was ski this winter and my cardio has gone down the toilet. So it'll be a good opportunity for people that haven't been able to get out as much as they usually do and want to start to get back into shape for the summer.
I plan to eat dinner on the summit.
We'll meet at the bottom of the scramble, near the base of the Bear Mountain bridge. We will meet on the East side of Route 9D.
Route Description:
We will scramble up the face, and enjoy the view of the Hudson River, Bear Mountain Bridge and Bear Mount proper, while eating dinner. We will then hike back down heading north on the Blue Trail trail. Once the Blue Trail meets the White blazed AT we will turn left and head down the steep stone stairs back to our cars.
Required Gear:
Headlamp, at least 1 liter of water, backpack, rain jacket, food, adult beverages (optional), I like hiking poles for the descent on this trip.
