Anthony's Nose Scramble Hike: Memorial Day (Part 1/2)
Details
This is the first part of a two-part hike. You can join for just one or both events. The second event will be a Sunset Hike at Bear Mountain.
Join us for a fun and quick scramble up to the beautiful views of Anthony's Nose. This is not a beginner hike, as it is a quick-paced and steep climb with no sweep.
WE WILL PARK AT BEAR MOUNTAIN FOR THIS EVENT and meet outside the Bear Mountain Inn to begin the hike. From the Bear Mountain Inn, we will walk a short portion around Hessian Lake and then take a tunnel under the highway and through a short path leading to the Bear Mountain Bridge. We will cross the Bear Mountain Bridge and then begin the scramble up the face of Anthony's Nose (blue markings), beginning at the chain link fence. After taking in the views at the peak, we will continue on the blue trail and then descend on the AT (white rectangle). We will then cross back over the Bear Mountain Bridge and return to the Bear Mountain Inn. From there, you can choose to end your hike or continue on a sunset hike event at Bear Mountain.
While we will try our best to stay together, faster hikers are not obligated to wait for slower hikers. You should feel comfortable with the listed route should you fall behind or separate from the group.
