Visualizing public health data with Ana Crisan

Details
The cherry blossoms have turned into leaves and it’s time for our next HxD event! This month, we’re proud to present a returning speaker- resident data viz expert Ana Crisan! Ana has spoken at HxD before about her data viz research; if you missed her previous talk you'll definitely want to catch this one.
Public health professionals use data as the basis of their decision-making, from developing and implementing policies and standard practices, responding to infectious disease outbreaks, evaluating the utility of a new epidemiological technique, or identifying patients that require follow-up. Administrative datasets, the traditional backbone of public health decision making, are now being combined with additional data from genomics, providing a richer pool of data from which knowledge may be drawn.
In this talk, Ana will provide an overview of how visualization of Public Health data can help to make sense of increasingly large and complex Public Health data. She will provide some key principles that have emerged from the Information Visualization research community, and demonstrate those principles in action in her own projects.
We hope to see you there!
