£1 Walk Ledsham to Fairburn Ings 90mins

Details
Walk starting at the gorgeous Ledsham Village to RSPB Fairburn Ings, maybe to the River Aire and Calder/Aire Navigation canal (depending on time). I intend to do 90 mins in total.
You will be rewarded with some excellent views and maybe some interesting birdlife! On a clear day you can see Emley Moor Mast in the distance and our starting point, I have recently learned, is the oldest building in West Yorkshire!
Mostly flat along marked trails but a couple of small hills and uneven ground in the woods. Sturdy footwear suggested.
Agenda: Meet ready for 6pm start by the church at the picturesque village of Ledsham (see photo) LS26. Do not park on the grass in the village or you will be shunned and probably sworn at, maybe even stoned (lol) by the locals who do not like it!
I intend to do the first half at a decent pace but slower on the way back.
Over fields and woodland to RSPB Fairburn Ings. Through the nature reserve for some great views and a circle of the top lake overlooking Newton village.
For those who want to and those who have used the pub car park (Chequers Inn), feel free to call in afterwards.
£1 walk fee. Well behaved dogs on leads are welcome. You are responsible for your own health and safety. I will cancel this event if it is raining so watch this space on the day.
