What we're about

The Hyperledger Foundation is an open source collaborative effort hosted by the Linux Foundation and created to advance cross-industry blockchain technologies. Participation is open to all.

Hyperledger Meetup groups have an informal relationship with Hyperledger, and make up a key part of the Hyperledger ecosystem. Participation in a Hyperledger Meetup group is open to anyone--employees of a Hyperledger member company, Hyperledger contributors and developers, and people just passionate about blockchain technology.

Using Hyperledger Besu to Participate in Public Ethereum Networks

Network event

Link visible for attendees

Matt Nelson, a Product Manager at ConsenSys, leads this technical workshop about how to operate the Hyperledger Besu Ethereum client on public networks and test nets and discusses staking and development using public infrastructure.

This workshop aims to outline the benefits and discuss the risks and nuances of participating in Ethereum public networks with Hyperledger Besu. Attend to learn about setting up Besu in an environment that can connect to other nodes correctly; how to think about staking Ether for rewards (and helping decentralize + secure Ethereum); and considerations and what to know when developing, testing, and deploying dapps on public networks.

The goal of this workshop is to come away feeling confident in the benefits and risks of using public infrastructure and to understand more about the future of Ethereum and Besu.

More about the workshop, including prerequisites to prepare for the session, is at:

Hyperledger FireFly 1.1 is Here! Deploy apps connecting to multiple chains

Network event

At Hyperledger Global Forum, the Hyperledger FireFly community was pleased to announce the release of version 1.1. This release makes it possible for Hyperledger FireFly users to deploy multiple blockchain applications connecting to multiple chains, including leading public blockchains like Ethereum, Polygon, Avalanche, Optimism, BNB Chain, Arbitrum, Moonbeam, Fantom and more.

In this webinar, Nicko Guyer, Hyperledger FireFly maintainer and Community Lead, will take you through the new functionality in 1.1, including:

  • Web3 Gateway Mode: Use Web3 Gateway Mode to connect to public blockchains including Ethereum, Polygon, Avalanche, Optimism, BNB Chain, Arbitrum, Moonbeam, and Fantom.
  • Public Blockchain Support: Leverage new tools to simplify public use cases, including FireFly Transaction Manager, FireFly Signer, and Enhanced Gateway Support.
  • Consortium Mode: Use Consortium Mode to build multi-party business networks where data needs to be agreed to and shared among the group.
  • Multi-tenant Support: Use new namespace isolation to segregate and configure API security, identity broadcasting, on-chain data indexing, and data sharing.
  • Multiple Instances of Plugins: Use several instances of each type of plugin in a single FireFly node.
  • Pluggable API Security: Enable API Security at several levels and on any service or namespace.

We look forward to seeing you there.

Hyperledger Career Fair 2022 - Part I

Network event

Link visible for attendees

Are you prepared for a career in Blockchain? This initial session will provide insight into the Blockchain job market, What skills are needed for these positions. We will have an initial presentation around getting prepared, followed by a Panel Discussion around hiring in the blockchain space.

Panel Members from top hiring Blockchain companies, including Accenture and DTCC will discuss the skills required and the types of projects available within the blockchain space.

Topics include:

  • The demand for blockchain-related skills and roles.
  • How companies define roles and opportunities.
  • How candidates can build their skills, and brand for roles.
  • How candidates find companies that are hiring.

After the panel discussion we will have a Q&A session with the panelists around the technology.

Tokenization deep-dive

Network event

In this lecture we try to deep-dive into the world of tokenization, beyond simple fungible and non-fungible tokens.
We will briefly cover the Token Taxonomy Framework and different advanced token types, like:
- hybrid NFT
- composable NFT
- Non-transferable tokens / crypto-badges
- Soulbound tokens (SBT)
- rentable NFT
- tokens with shared or partial ownership
- royalty tokens
- security token standards and initiatives
- tokenized stock
- tokens for recurring subscription models
- etc ..
