Meditation is the practice of focusing your attention to help you feel calm and give you clear awareness about your life. Meditation has been used to treat a range of physical and emotional problems, including addiction, anxiety, stress, depression, high blood pressure, insomnia, and even to manage hot flashes.
Please join us for an evening of concentrative meditation practiced in many eastern traditions, in which we focus on a mantra (a series of repeated words sung in pattern). This is a simple form of meditation that, once experienced, is easy (or at least simple) to practice on your own at home. As this is a class, we will have a short discussion after the meditation session about your experience, so feel free to bring your questions about meditation!
This class is led by our resident shaman, Ayamanatara, who has been leading various forms of group meditation for over 15 years.
