What we’re about

Hello Durango Folks!

(I,36M) came up here in March to help my grandparents in their final years. (F84) lives with severe Alzheimer's & Sunddowners. My grandfather has Lewy body Disease and for whatever reason the Uruologist felt it best he an colostomy at 89.

I'm stuck here in your beautiful town changing his bags on a regular schedule since they were unable to train him to be self sufficient.

On safe (colostomy) days I'd like to get out and meet locals and non/locals alike who have similar stories and would like to experience the local beauty this region has to offer. I'm mostly stuck home caring for them, but would like to take some free-time out of the house!

Unfortunately, I cannot ride a bike due to prior back surgeries.
I'm 2 surgeries in and have been dealing with consistent chronic pain since a kid at the age of 16.

With the CO Trail ends at the edge of his property line (his property line goes up to the back of the fallen tree behind the portapottys of the lower CO trail Parking lot, Wet side of the 204) -- you can thank him if you've ever parked there since he got the city to create it back in the 80's.

I'd just like to get out the house occasionally for a moderate hike and chat with others. I've gone hiking along the trail plenty but, I'd like to hike with others as well.

With the exception of Boy Scouts, I'm pretty much a beginner. If you have any CBT/Meditation skills I'd love to learn from you. I'm an open book with a thirst of meeting new people who can hold a deep conversations and introduce me to new cultures. Any ages and sexes welcome, but preferably from our young adults to seniors still out there kickin' ass.

I lived in the bubble of the corporate world, specifically commercial real estate in Southern California which did an amazing job crushing my spirit and I want to turn that around. But If you are young and hungry boy do I have stories for you and you are welcome to pick my brain.

If you are not a sports fan disregard this part: I've been a Broncos fan since the Elway /TD era. But with life getting drastically more difficult I have trouble continuing to be into sports.

The plan is to start at CO Trail Trailhead and Reach Gudy's Rest. Per Google Earth, it's approximately 3.8 miles/6.11Km. So 3-4 hour round trip if we take it slow

I will not partake in drugs, but I'm not going to give you any grief. That was once a part of my past life, so I get it. However, If kids do join, please leave party supply behind at the parking lot.

If you'd like as well, feel to park on our property.

I'd like to surround myself by people who appreciate life and the beauty of nature so if this sounds like you. Give me a ring/text and lets hit the trail together as a group!

If you find this post a later date feel to throw a twig a the second story window of 2501 CR 204 or ring the doorbell and ask for Brad.
