Where: Our kickoff meeting will be Monday, December 1st at 1:00 pm at Twin Lakes YMCA (204 E Little Elm Trail, Cedar Park, TX 78613)
Note: While you can run anywhere, the majority of our optional group runs will be in Cedar Park.

Ready to Surprise Yourself?
In 9 weeks, you'll go from "I can't run for 60 seconds" to running 30 minutes straight. No judgment. No pressure. Just real people taking real steps together. This isn't about being fast. It's about showing up.

How It Works
We'll all use the free Just Run: Zero to 5K app (iPhone & Android). It gives audio cues—you just show up and press start.
The plan: 3 runs per week for 9 weeks. You'll start with short intervals (like 60 seconds of running, 90 seconds of walking) and gradually build to a full 30-minute run.
The group: I've created a Facebook group where we can share our journey, find running buddies, and plan group runs. I'm truly a beginner (yesterday I walk/ran a 15 minute mile).

What Week 1 Looks Like
Each run is about 30 minutes total:

  • 5-minute warmup walk
  • Alternate: 60 seconds running, 90 seconds walking (repeat 8 times)
  • 5-minute cooldown walk

If you can walk for 30 minutes, you can do this.
