Austin Staples: Peter Pan Mini Golf!
Details
I’m starting a new Meetup series called Austin Staples where we visit things that make Austin what it is. These events will be focused on visiting places that have been established for a long time and help keep Austin weird.
Our first visit will be to somewhere I’ve been wanting to visit for ages: Peter Pan Mini Golf! Established in 1948, Peter Pan has 2 18-hole putt putt courses. You can play an 18 hole game for $11 plus tax or play 36 holes for $17 plus tax. Peter Pan is also BYOB, so you can bring a cooler but no glass.
The parking lot is small, but there is parking nearby. After 6 pm, the bike shop down the street allows parking (hence the 6 pm start time). There is paid street parking around the area too (Dawson road comes to mind for this).
Afterwards we can drive or walk (a 10 minute walk) to Sandy’s, which is another Austin staple (established in 1946) that serves up burgers, ice cream, etc.
NOTE: since this event is outdoor, it may be cancelled due to inclement weather. I will make an announcement the morning of the event if that is the case.
AI summary
