Hey! It’s SXSW time. A lot of people hate it cause of the crowds(fair), but it’s a GREAT weekend for free music/events, such as Fiesta Deatructo, one of my favorite events of the year!
Fiesta Destructo is an annual, free “unofficial” SXSW showcase on the patio of Hotel Vegas that celebrates alternative/underground rock, and the grittier side of the Austin music scene. Most of the bands are punk/punk adjacent.
Lots of legendary “legacy” garage bands playing this year, including The Mummies, Didjits, and Rocket From The Crypt! Link posted below w poster!
The show is from 2-7, but it can be hard to meet inside, so I put the meetup location at a ramen restaurant across the street at 1pm. It’s a good place for food and drinks.
Also ride-share HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. You will not be able to find parking during SXSW weekend.
