Hey folks! This is stop 4 of the Austin Staples series where we visit things that make Austin what it is. These events will be focused on visiting places that have been established for a long time and help keep Austin weird.

For our next installment, we are going to what many consider the crown jewel of Austin: Barton Springs Pool. To be honest, this is probably my favorite place in Austin, and it makes me look forward to summer.

There is a paid side and a free side. We will be going to the PAID side. It’s $5 for residents, $9 for non-residents. I will give tips for parking and how to get to the pool closer to the date along with where to find me.

Some important things to note:

-food is not allowed
-coolers are not allowed
-frisbees or speakers are not allowed
-parking on the South side is usually better
-if you have cash, you pay the cashier. Card purchases can be made at the kiosks

We will be in the sun so bring water, sun protection, etc. The pool is 68-70 degrees Fahrenheit year round, so prepare for cold (but oh-so-refreshing) water. Parts of the pool are very deep, so be aware of your swim level.
