Goings On About Town: Summer of Soul at 3Below in San Jose

Details
I thought I'd start a different kind of event for this group. In addition to New Yorker magazine discussions, we'll occasionally do some cultural outings. Like the kind of thing you'd see listed in the New Yorker's "Goings On About Town" section, only they'll be here in the Bay Area. This Wednesday, you're invited to join us to see Summer of Soul at the 3Below Theater in San Jose.
Over the course of six weeks during the summer of 1969, thousands of people attend the Harlem Cultural Festival to celebrate Black history, culture, music, and fashion. Winner of the 2022 Academy Award for Best Documentary.
Sly Stone, who passed away today, is featured in the documentary. Going to see this movie in the theater could be a great way to celebrate his music and memory.
This event is cross posted with two other Meetup groups: Adventures in History and Culture and the San Jose Indie Film Meetup.
You can get tickets in advance at https://3belowtheaters.com/. I have seat E18 if you want to sit close.
