### 🔭 **Special Science Event: Discovering Dark Matter with Quantum Technology**

Join us for a fascinating evening at Stanford!
We’re attending a public lecture that explores one of the biggest mysteries in modern physics — *dark matter* — and the groundbreaking quantum technologies being developed to detect it.

### **About the Lecture**

The **2025 Nobel Prize in Physics** was awarded for breakthroughs in next-generation quantum technologies, including quantum sensing. This lecture will dive into how these tools are being used to search for the *axion* — an invisible, ultra-weakly interacting particle believed to make up most of the matter in the Universe.
You’ll learn about:
✨ How quantum sensing detects incredibly tiny signals
✨ The search for axions at Stanford: **ADMX** and **DM Radio**
✨ Why advances in superconducting circuits are opening entirely new possibilities
✨ How these experiments can be simplified for educational use
A discovery of the axion would transform our understanding of physics — and our place in the cosmos.

### **Speaker: Chelsea Bartram**

Chelsea Bartram is an experimental particle physicist at SLAC and a Panofsky Fellow. Her passion for invisible forms of light began in childhood and led her from Boston University to the Large Hadron Collider, then to UNC Chapel Hill, the University of Washington, and now to Stanford.
Today, she works at the cutting edge of dark-matter detection using radio technology and quantum sensing.
