September Meetup: Vaporware No More
Our first meetup at PowerDMS! It should be an exciting one as we have two talks lined up that will provide interesting insights into lesser known areas of iOS development. In fact, one isn't even about iOS development per-se, though it does use Swift. Check out the talks section below to learn more. See ya there! Location ——————— A big thanks to the folks at PowerDMS for hosting the meetup this month. PowerDMS is in the third floor of the Exchange building. Parking is available in the Garland lot next to the building and also in the 55 West parking garage. Both lots charge a fee. Also, the Church Street SunRail stop is about a 2 min walk so taking the train is an option. ——————— Talks ——————— Keli'i Martin - Creating Custom Slack Integrations with Vapor 3 (Redux) Keli'i will be updating his previous Vapor 1 talk and showing you both how to build a slack integration for slash commands, as well as talking about the updates to Vapor from 1.0 - 3.0. It is a much more mature framework and quite powerful for building web backends of all sizes. Ben Gohlke - Custom Libraries and Creating Your Own Cocoapod Have you ever wondered how to create a Cocoapod for something you've built that you'd like to reuse in multiple projects? Ben will go over the little onboarding library he built and then show you how to convert a simple repo into a Cocoapod and get it listed in the directory on Cocoapods.org. ——————— Have an idea for a talk? Want to sharpen your presentation or tech skills? Why not both? Reach out to us as we’re always looking for new speakers. Just because you haven’t spoken before doesn’t mean you can’t give an insightful and educational talk that will enrich everyone involved. We’re planning this meetup in the open, so be sure to check out our Trello board to suggest topics or contact the organizers to give a talk. https://trello.com/b/uahHeqsb/ios-orlando-meetup Talk to us through the Trello board above or mention @iOSOrlando on Twitter.
