Apache Cassandra is an open source distributed database management system designed to handle large amounts of data across many commodity servers, providing high availability with no single point of failure. Cassandra offers robust support for clusters spanning multiple datacenters, with asynchronous masterless replication allowing low latency operations for all clients.
To deal with massive amount of data and guaranteeing very short latency, Cassandra relies on very advanced data structures and algorithms. In this session we will show some of them and how they are leveraged. Among others, we will present Merkle trees, CRDT, HyperLogLog and many more.
Duy Hai Doan is a Cassandra technical advocate at DataStax. He spends his time
between technical presentations/meetups on Cassandra, coding on open source projects to support the community and helping all companies using Cassandra to make their project successful. Previously he was working as a freelance Java/Cassandra consultant.
