"faith in/of facilitation " - IAF North of England facilitators monthly meetup

Details

Join us for facilitation check-in, networking, and catch-up on current themes in our respective work and practices at our North of England facilitators monthly online meetup (although we're very welcoming and inclusive of anyone who can claim any form of 'Northerner status').

This month we've a guest lead facilitator who's going to be supporting us to explore the dimension of faith in facilitation...

What might the word ‘faith’ mean? It might refer to the more visible faiths, like Christianity, Islam or Judaism. It might refer to the less well known like Assemblies of God, Ba’hai or Church of the Latter Day Saints. It might refer to the less visible like Rastafarian, Jain or Pagan. It might even simply refer to a person’s spirituality rather than an established belief system. Whatever the belief system, it will likely make a difference to the way someone interacts with others, so it’s worth being aware.

  • If you are someone with a faith, how does it influence your working practice? How does it influence your facilitation of others in both the secular world and the faith world? Does it make a difference for you?
  • If you are someone with no faith who has worked with faith groups, did you find yourself adjusting your practice to accommodate? Or did you come unstuck over something that surprised you? Or was there no difference?
  • What might a facilitator of no faith need to be aware of if called upon to work with a faith group? I will be talking from a Christian perspective; it would greatly enrich our time together to receive input from those with a different belief system.

So, facilitators of all faiths and none, please join us on 29 October for lively exchange. It is, as Father Jack said, an ecumenical matter…..

Please share a review on the group page afterwards, to let others know how you found the meetup - and please use the hashtag #IAFMeetup on social media before, during & after the meetup. See you then!
