Detailed Agenda:
Making open source part of their day job is a dream for many developers, and it is less complicated than it seems. In this meetup, we will uncover the secrets of successful open-source activities we do as part of our day job. How we got there, how the day-to-day looks, and most importantly, how to convince your manager to partner with you.
In the first talk, Liran Tal, one of Israel's most famous open-source contributors and a GitHub star, will share some of his open-source work at Snyk. He will share his experience of The Big Fix, an event Snyk is sponsoring for a better and safer open-source world.
Next, we will hear from Yoav Ganbar, Developer Experience & Relations at Builder.io. He will discuss why Builder created and maintains three popular open-source projects: Qwik, Partytown, and Mitosis. Also, he will share his experience of diving into an open-source contribution for the first time and how to make it easier for newcomers to contribute to OSS projects.
We will end with Gabriel L. Manor, a DevRel mixer at Permit.io, who will share about OPAL - a GitOps platform that Permit.io has maintained and backed from the first day of the company. He will talk about how we can create and build open-source projects as part of a commercial product company. He will share some tips for starting at your own pace.
The meetup is designed for developers who want to make an impact and learn how to transform their organization into a contributor. Snyk and Permit.io will sponsor Pizza and beer.
