🎤 Ayla Bayens worked as an Enterprise Architect for several years at a national health and safety service and a health insurer. Today, she works as the Chief Architect at ASN Bank after years at the Volksbank as their leading Enterprise Architect. Her specialism is working under architecture in agile organisations. As a young woman, she is an atypical appearance among the established order of Enterprise Architects. She will present and discuss how architecture should be simple and accessible, how we can all break old patterns, reduce complexity and realise innovative solutions.

18:00 Session
🎤 “No surprises software development”
René Pingen, Chief Technology Officer, Utilus
During a software development project a million decisions need to be made, some of them completely inconsequential, others with potential impact on the companies strategy. It is impossible to discuss all decisions at all levels. We have all seen that Sprint’ing and Scrum’ing will not get the board level decisions to the board level. Nor does it in itself empower the developers to take the development decisions.
We have been refining our method for the last six years to create “No Surprises Software Development”, a method where there is an overall agreement on cost, non-functional requirements and functionality that gets everyone from the board to the dev team on the same page and allows for flexible decision making at the level where people understand the consequences of the decision. And not the other way round.
