This workshop will begin with an introduction to Node-RED which is a Visual tool for wiring together hardware devices, APIs and online services in new and interesting ways. It provides a browser-based editor that makes it easy to wire together flows using the wide range of nodes in the palette that can be deployed to its runtime in a single-click.

Following this, there will be an overview of Watson API's which you can use to build cognition into your application.

We will focus on two Watson API's in our hands-on workshop

  1. Visual Recognition - Build a quick Node-Red application on IBM Cloud Using Watson Visual Recognition to analyse content of images
  2. Natural Language Understanding - Create a Node-RED flow to analyse semantic features of text input.
  3. Custom Model - We will then use Watson Studio to create and test a custom Visual recognition model with a set of example images
