Description: This session will look at the IBM z16 system’s core design and architecture. We’ll explore the new Telum chip improvements in the cache design and how it works within the system as well as changes in the memory. We will cover the layout of the system and discuss some of the new features coming to the IBM z16 like the new AI Inferencing Accelerator.

Session Title: IBM z16 Hardware/Software – IBM TSS Planning/Installation & Migration Services
Description: This is a joint session presented by IBM Technology Support Services (TSS). Our first presenter, John Troy will cover the initial planning process when ordering IBM z16 Hardware as well as any Storage related upgrades. Once the Systems Services Representative (SSR) has completed all the related work including network, power and system cabling, the software services work is ready to begin. Our next presenters George Ng and Steve Goedde will cover the software planning and implementation phase. This includes installing and configuring the base operating system, validating the network is set up properly and accessible. The final topic covered will be migration planning.
