The Real Estate Revolution – What does this mean and why should we care?
Real estate may be an indicator of a nation’s economy and state of humanity as housing, finances, and health are oftentimes interconnected and interdependent. Commercial real estate constitutes a significant portion of the world’s economic assets and transaction activity, and residential real estate is often the greatest source of wealth and savings for many families. However, real estate is inaccessible to many people, it offers poor liquidity for investors, and includes many intermediaries which equates to higher transaction costs. But there is hope through blockchain technology. Overall, blockchain presents an opportunity to reduce costs while enhancing transparency, minimizing human error, and increasing data accessibility. Real estate may indeed help to build a nation, but it is this technology that may help to guard against corruption, save tax funds, and simplify processes. Blockchain may ultimately unlock capital and provide more people with real access to real estate assets.
