Sugar RiverPaddle - Brodhead to Avon Bottoms

Details

This paddle from the Clarence bridge boat landing to Avon bottoms starts just west of Brodhead where Hwy 11-81 crosses the Sugar river. We’ll paddle 8 miles to the boat landing in the Avon bottoms area.

This is an fairly easy paddle with no faster water and a sandy bottom
suitable for all skill levels. The 8 miles should be about 3-3 1/2 hours of paddling.

We’ll meet up at Clarence bridge boat landing at 10am and shuttle cars to Avon bottoms before returning to our start point. We’ll try to find a sand bar mid trip to stretch our legs, cool off, or get a bite to eat if you pack food.
An excellent review of this paddle that I’ve shortened can be seen here:

Pfd’s are required to be present in every boat.

There will be a “Shuttling” of cars for this trip which means you will ride in someone’s car with others OR you’ll drive your car providing a ride for others. This means you car will be waiting for you at the end of the paddle.
Except for the shuttle drivers who will get their cars after paddling.

My cell is 608-756-5690 if you have any questions.
