Join us for a scenic adventure at Niagara Springs State Park, one of southern Idaho’s hidden gems tucked deep inside the Snake River Canyon near Wendell, Idaho.
This outing will combine easy hiking, beautiful spring-fed waterfalls, canyon scenery, wildlife viewing, and relaxing social time beside the river. The vibrant blue water pouring directly from the canyon walls creates an incredible setting that feels unlike anywhere else in Idaho.

*The event will start with a picnic lunch - bring some food and non-alcoholic drinks to share or grill up something for the group at the picnic area **

## 🥾 Trails & areas We May Explore

### Snake River Shoreline Trails

We’ll explore the easy non-motorized trails that follow portions of the Snake River shoreline through the Wildlife Management Area. These trails provide beautiful river views, quiet walking paths, birdwatching opportunities, and access to scenic fishing areas.

### Canal & Springs Path

A gentle walking route follows the canal and spring-fed waterways flowing through the canyon. This area is excellent for photography and wildlife viewing, especially waterfowl and raptors commonly seen throughout the canyon.

### Canyon Overlooks & Waterfall Viewing

We’ll spend time exploring the main Niagara Springs waterfall area and nearby overlooks where massive volumes of icy blue water emerge directly from the canyon wall into the Snake River below. The springs produce approximately 250 cubic feet of water per second and are part of the famous Thousand Springs complex.

## 🌿 About the Area

Niagara Springs is part of the larger Thousand Springs complex within the Snake River Canyon. The area includes waterfalls, wetlands, spring-fed streams, and riparian habitat that support abundant birds and wildlife year-round. Visitors can access approximately 3.5 miles of Snake River shoreline within the area.
